I know that the Pro Football Hall of Fame announcemets will be made tomorrow, and Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith will have their names called. The 15 possible remaining candidates remains intriguing.
If I had my way, I would vote in; Rice, Smith, Cris Carter, Shannon Sharpe and Charles Haley.
Carter is third all-time in catches, fourth in TD catches and eigth in receiving yards. Even with Rice on the Ballot, this is a no-brainer.
Sharpe brought the TE position to a whole new stature. He held the record for receiving yards by a TE, until Tony Gonzalez broke that record this season. Sharpe got 2 Super Bowl rings in Denver and 1 in Baltimore.
Haley will most likely not get the nod, even though he has 5 Super Bowl Rings. That's right.5 Rice, Smith, Carter and Sharpe have 9 between the 4 of them. Oh, and he just so happens to have 100.5 sacks on his resume. Hmmm, sounds like a no-brainer to me.
We shall see how things turn out on Saturday. I may not be the smartest guy, but this sounds like a pretty good list to me.
